Randy Moss Motorsports and the No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado will make its much anticipated debut this weekend at the Kentucky Speedway with the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year Willie Allen behind the wheel.
Team Owner Randy Moss on Kentucky Debut:
“This is something that I have looked forward to for quite a while now. I am a big fan of the sport and to come out and debut this new organization in Kentucky is pretty darn cool. My group of people have all worked hard for the last six months or so in making this a reality and I can’t thank them enough. David Dollar and I seem to really click as a new ownership group right away and I think we make a good combination that will hopefully make a big impact in this series. I start NFL camp here in the next few weeks and I am very happy that we have this program put together and the No. 81 truck on the track before I leave for that. I look forward to watching that 81 go around the track and hopefully we put on a great performance in our debut.”
Willie Allen on Racing for Randy Moss Motorsports:
"I'm very excited about the opportunity to drive the Kentucky race for Randy Moss Motorsports. Randy Moss is definitely a proven winner and I feel that he brings a lot of passion to the race team. This is a great opportunity for me and I am very grateful to Randy, David Dollar and everyone at Chevy for giving me the chance to be behind the wheel of the No. 81 this Saturday."
Willie Allen on Racing at Kentucky:
"I love racing at the Kentucky Speedway. The facilities are great and the fans are awesome. The fans really support the truck series in Kentucky and it makes the atmosphere great. The track is a little bumpy so you have to stay up on the wheel all night which makes it a fun race. We tested at Darlington last week and it really helped me learn what the new spacer plate feels like on the speedways. I also feel like me and crew chief Eric Phillips really hit on our communication during the test. I think we will have a good night in Kentucky."
Randy Moss Motorsports Welcomes Sponsors For Kentucky Debut:
Grammy Award winning country music group Rascal Flatts will sponsor the No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado for the debut of Randy Moss Motorsports this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. The three man band has recorded eight number one songs in their bright career and is currently touring the country on their “Bob That Head” 2008 concert tour. The group’s new single – “Bob that Head” can be heard on local radio stations nationwide.
Joining Rascal Flatts as sponsors in Kentucky will be The Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Lowery Plumbing as they will ride along on the No. 81 Silverado with Willie Allen for the 150-lap event as Associate Sponsors.
Willie Allen Kentucky Speedway Career Stats:
Willie Allen will make his second career start the Kentucky Speedway located in Sparta, Kentucky. The 2007 Rookie of the Year finished 15th in this event last year while driving the No. 13 Chevrolet. He started 17th for the 150-lap event.
His start this weekend for Randy Moss Motorsports also marks the 30th career start for the Nashville, Tennessee native.
Crew Chief Eric Phillips Chooses Chassis No. 102 for Kentucky Debut:
The No. 81 Chevrolet Silverado chosen for the Kentucky debut of Randy Moss Motorsports is Chassis No. 102. This truck was run earlier this year at Charlotte, Texas and Michigan. Landon Cassill produced the best finish when he brought Chassis No. 102 home for a ninth place finish in Charlotte at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
