Randy Moss Motorsports Makes Successful Debut with 15th Place Finish

Sparta, Kentucky (July 21, 2008) – The much-anticipated debut by Randy Moss as a team owner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was punctuated with a successful 15th-place finish in the Built Ford Tough 225 at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night. Willie Allen, the 2007 Craftsman Truck Series rookie of the year, piloted the No. 81 Rascal Flatts Chevrolet Silverado safely home for the inaugural race for the newly named Randy Moss Motorsports team.

"This was really an incredible honor to be the driver for Randy Moss Motorsports in their debut, said Allen. “We had a decent night with the 15th place finish but I really would have liked to give Randy a little better finish in his debut. We struggled a little with the set-up in our Chevrolet but Eric Phillips (crew chief) really made some great adjustments on our pit stops and we got pretty decent there towards the end. I think we needed one more adjustment and we could have been in a position to get a top-ten finish. But in all, I think everyone would say that this was a successful night for Randy Moss Motorsports. I hope I get a chance to work with these guys again before the year is over."

Allen had several close calls on the track during the 150-lap race but was able to safely maneuver away from trouble during an event that was slowed by eight caution periods.

“We had a few close calls out there tonight especially when the 30 truck spun right in front of us,” Allen said. “But we were able to keep the nose of this No. 81 Chevrolet clean and bring it home in one piece”.

Moss was pleased with his first experience on top of the pit box as a NASCAR team owner.

“This was really a thrill for me to watch the 81 truck go around the track in its debut,” Moss said. “It was pretty cool to be there in the pits with the team members during the race. Just like my job with the New England Patriots this is all about the team effort. All of the guys worked hard tonight and I appreciate everything they did. It was a lot of fun to see what those guys do up close. It’s a lot of hard work and they gave it a great effort. We need to crawl before we walk, but I hope before too long we’re out there running for wins.”

As a result of their 15th place finish, Randy Moss Motorsports remains in the 17th spot in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series owners points.

Next up for the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports Chevrolet is the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis on Friday July 25. SPEED will have the live telecast starting at 7:30 P.M. Eastern with the green flag scheduled for shortly after 8 P.M. MRN Radio will have the live radio call on select affiliates nationwide and on Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 128.
