LANDON CASSILL RETURNS TO WHEEL OF NO. 81 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AT TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY

National Guard Makes Debut as Sponsor for Randy Moss Motorsports

STATESVILLE, N.C. (September 29, 2008) – Randy Moss Motorsports (RMM) announced today that rookie driver, Landon Cassill will return to drive the No. 81 RMM Chevrolet Silverado for the running of the Mountain Dew 250 Fueled by Winn-Dixie at Talladega Superspeedway on October 4, 2008.  In addition to Cassill’s return, the National Guard will jump on board as sponsor of the No. 81 ride for the event as well.

In an effort to continue to help build recruiting, retention and branding, the National Guard has extended their sponsorship arm into the Craftsman Truck Series with Cassill.

“To be associated with the National Guard is such an honor,” stated Randy Moss, co-owner of Randy Moss Motorsports.  “It’s so exciting to be able to represent the men and women who are out there fighting for our freedom.  We are pleased to have them on board for the race at Talladega and to be able to honor them by representing them in Saturday’s event.  Obviously we want to put the National Guard truck in victory lane for them and I feel confident Landon and all the guys on the team can do just that.”

The Talladega race will mark Cassill’s seventh NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the 2008 season all of which have been behind the wheel of the No. 81 truck.  The 19-year-old rookie has a best finish of third in the June 20 event at the Milwaukee Mile.  In addition, he scored another top-10 finish at Lowe’s Motor Speedway back in May.

“It's always a pleasure to race with my guys on the 81 truck,” said Cassill.  “The team has been around for a long time, and has a lot of credibility, and I owe a lot of my recent success in the Nationwide Series to these guys for helping me out.  We've got the National Guard on board, and I think it’s a perfect combination for my first race at Talladega.”

On Friday, Cassill will make his driving debut at the 2.66-mile superspeedway when he takes the track for the Oct. 3 ARCA Series event, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports. Cassill’s only other superspeedway start came in an ARCA event in February when he qualified eighth and finished seventh at Daytona International Speedway.

“I think racing at Daytona and Talladega for any young driver is a really neat thing, and a dream come true, so naturally this is a race that I've been looking forward to running there all year,” said Cassill.  “I learned a lot in Daytona this winter about drafting, but I also learned even more about drafting at some of the truck races that I've ran this year at fast tracks.  It's going to take a lot of focus to catch on to the drafting techniques on race weekend, but I think the seat time and experience that I'll get from the ARCA race will be able to transfer right over to the truck.

As far as his goals for the race in Talladega, Cassill commented on what his focus for the weekend will be.  “I really think my Randy Moss Motorsports truck is capable of winning at any track I go to, but I think the most important thing for me to do is keep the truck in one piece all day.  I need to learn as much as I can about drafting, and then maybe go for a few extra positions in the end. I know I've got great equipment under me, and I think if I drive a smooth race we should easily be in the top ten, or even better.”

The National Guard is hosting a recruiting and retention event on Saturday, October 4th their Trackside Setup in conjunction with their sponsorship on the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports truck on Saturday and the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports car driven by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. on Sunday.  Cassill will be on hand at 1:30 p.m. to address the guests in attendance.

In additional the National Guard has partnered with AMP Energy Drink to host an exclusive Three Doors Down concert following the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event on Saturday.  Tickets to this event have already been distributed as they were limited in number.
