LIA BRINGS NO. 81 RANDY MOSS MOTORSPORTS CHEVROLET HOME TO A 16TH-PLACE FINISH IN PHOENIX
AVONDALE, AZ (November 8, 2008) – Donny Lia and the Randy Moss Motorsports (RMM) team had a decent run in Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. After starting in the 15th position, Lia fought a loose handling race truck to finish 16th.
“Phoenix was a bit of a rollercoaster for us,” commented Lia. “We made some headway in both practices but really could never get our truck where we needed it to be. It sure wasn't from a lack of effort though as the guys really worked hard all weekend as usual.”
“For me it was a great learning experience,” continued Lia. “I really enjoyed the race track. It was very challenging and unique. I definitely look forward to going back there next year with some more experience under my belt.”
After avoiding a lap two caution that involved several trucks, Lia settled in for the 150-lap event. The No. 81 RMM/NationRides.com Chevrolet Silverado was loose for most of the night.
The RMM crew made adjustments along with regular service during pit stops under the caution flag on laps 30 and 79. The Long Island, New York native continued to fight handling and made his final pit stop on lap 130. All though crew chief Eric Phillips and the RMM crew worked on the truck all night the handling just did not come in for Lia. Despite the loose conditions, Lia was able to bring the No. 81 Chevy home to a 16th-place finish.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to the Homestead-Miami Speedway next for the final event of the 2008 season with the running of the round 25 of 25 with the running of the Ford 200 on Friday, November 14, 2008.
